The robot chef operated from the smartphone, is capable to cook tasty food according to recipes from the Internet. It sounds as science fiction, but already reality. Such robot will arrive in bulk selling in 2017.
Two robotized manipulators are suspended over the stove, an oven, a working surface and a sink. On dexterity the robotized hands do not concede to the human. The robot works as quickly as the professional chef, it is obedient submitting to teams with iPhone.
The car which was developed by the Moley Robotics company, already attracted to NASA agency. The robot is able to address practically with all kitchen utensils and equipment, skillfully copying movements of the person. For example, soup mashed potatoes preparation from seafood takes less than 30 minutes from it.
24 connections and 20 motors allowed the robot to repeat Tim Anderson’s movements, the winner of the British culinary show MasterChef 2011 with accuracy. Movements of the cook were written down in advance on the chamber and loaded into memory of the car.
Moley Robotics sees the future in which well-known the chef the recipes sell to owners of kitchen robots. However professional cooks say that the robot is limited in movements and cannot prepare a land, for example.
Probably, the robot consults with crushing and cutting of products excellently, but I am not sure that dexterity will suffice it to prepare a land. Perhaps, it can make good beaters, but will prepare a nigiri-land very much and very not easy, – declared to the land master IBTimes edition from Kouzu restaurant in London.
Could This Robot Chef Change The Future Of Cooking? Like John Torode and Gregg Wallace at the end of an invention test, Moley Robotics wants you to stop cooking. The UK company has unveiled what it claims is the world’s first robot chef at the Hanover Messe robotics fair in Germany. WIRED’s Oli Franklin-Wallis introduces you to an automaton with a knack for making a mean bisque. Footage via Moley Robotics.
The appendix for the smartphone allows to operate the robot distantly. According to Moley Robotics, in the consumer version of system there will be a built-in refrigerator and the storeroom. In the future manipulators will put all dirty ware not in a sink, and in the dishwasher with which it is planned to complete system.
Founders of the robot say that it can learn to cooperate with any devices in kitchen. According to them, it is enough to it to show, how it works.
Future versions of the robot will study by means of chambers of capture of movement, and their owners can exchange training materials. Cooks can earn money, selling the firm recipes of cooking through special online shop.
Moley also safeguards those who will be near the robot dealing with potentially dangerous kitchen accessories. Installation of protective glass and fire-prevention system that will increase safety of use of the robot in one room with children or when anybody is not present the house becomes the following step. Experts do not exclude that in the future the Moley robot can become the universal assistant in all household chores.
Engineers of Moley say that future version can have synthetic hands which the robot can independently wash after work with crude meat.
When manipulators are not used, they develop, releasing a place over a working surface. The robot is entered in kitchen of the usual sizes.
The company plans to begin bulk sellings of the robot in 2017 at the price of 10 000 pounds sterling. It should be noted that into this price enter not only manipulators, but also the stove, a sink, a working surface and cases. Recent research of the The Times newspaper showed that nearly a half of British spends for kitchen furniture from 5 000 to 20 000 pounds sterling. So it not such and the high price for the robotized kitchen.
